In collaboration with Bacron B.V. from Heeten, Theo Schrijver Interieurbouw from Heino has developed a unique art hanging system that can hang valuable art in museums faster and more safely. The machine transfers hanging points onto the wall but is also suitable for keeping the art hanging during a presentation or temporary exhibition.
The idea
Theo Schrijver: “My first prototype was built from wood. For the second prototype, I also used aluminum and, together with a good friend, developed a control system. Ralph Keuning, director of Museum De Fundatie, was enthusiastic about the machine and advised me to apply for a patent. Successfully! Realizing I couldn’t continue alone, I contacted Kennispoort Regio Zwolle. After several discussions, innovation advisor Ynte van der Meer put me in touch with Paul Reimert from Bacron B.V.”
Collaboration
Ynte: “Paul and I also had discussions because he wanted to broaden his activities. I connected the two, and then things moved quickly. A patent search was conducted and a patent application was filed. Trust was built between Theo and Paul, which led to a first legal cooperation agreement. Salland collaboration at its best!”
The future
The machine is expected to hit the market in the near future. Together with Trade Office, they are also exploring opportunities in the international market. Paul Reimert: “How amazing would it be if our system is used, for example, in the Louvre!” Theo and Paul see more possibilities for the system but want to establish this product well in the market first.
Thanks to the special collaboration, the art hanging system was nominated for the Cross-over Innovation Challenge in 2018.
