Medical Precision, Theo Schrijver Interieurbouw, and Van Remmen UV Technology are the three nominees eligible for the Cross-over Innovation Award 2018. The prize for the best cross-sector innovative collaboration is being awarded for the fifth time this year. The winner will be announced on September 13, 2018, during the Cross-over Innovation Challenge.
From over twenty applications, three nominees were selected based on factors including impact, entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and market value.
Medical Precision
Medical Precision from Zwolle has developed a marking system used in hospitals for cancer treatment. The initiative came from Isala Hospital’s request to Art of Beauty to find a solution for placing the extremely painful, inaccurate, and non-removable “reference points” for radiotherapy in cancer treatment. Through a unique collaboration of various parties, a unique new product was developed that offers an improvement for patients at the start of their cancer treatment period.
Collaborating parties: Art of Beauty (permanent makeup), Promolding B.V. (plastic injection-molded products), All Round Technology B.V. (medical electromechatronics), Unitron B.V. (manufacturer of electronic and mechanical medical instruments), and Mi-CE B.V. (medical regulatory consultancy). More information: https://medicalprecision.nl/.
Theo Schrijver Interieurbouw
In collaboration with Bacron B.V. from Heeten, Theo Schrijver Interieurbouw from Heino has developed a unique art hanging system that can hang valuable art in museums faster and more safely. The machine transfers hanging points onto the wall but is also suitable for keeping the art hanging during a presentation or temporary exhibition. Museum De Fundatie in Zwolle is testing the machine and is a fan. The machine is expected to enter the market in the near future. Bacron B.V. website: https://www.profielvanaluminium.nl/.
Van Remmen UV Technology
Van Remmen UV Technology from Wijhe has teamed up with Jotem Waterbehandeling B.V. to solve the problem caused by contamination of pharmaceutical residues in drinking water. With their innovation Advanox™, they go even further than initially expected. This new technique uses UV-C light to effectively break down pharmaceutical and hormone residues in surface water flows.
